Ring My Bell... Sleeves

So, let me tell you...

Last month was such a blur and here we are well into March. I could tell you all the things that I've been doing that have kept this busy bee from updating the site, but I won't now - I'll save that for another time. But, if you aren't already, you should follow me on Insta for daily updates. :)

With that said, onto this multicolored bell sleeve top from SheIn. I didn't want to take off. I was looking for things to do this day, just to keep it on. haha. Have you ever done that? This top is just so fun! A lively intro to spring with the mix of bright colors. I love the contrasting multicolored sections. And the bell sleeves are everything. I could have gotten a small which would have been a little more fitted, but I went with a medium instead so that the sleeves would hang a bit more on me. For a bit of edge, I paired the top with these faux leather bermuda shorts that I got on sale way back when. This was actually my first time wearing them. When I got them, I thought they were a great idea, but until this top, I couldn't figure out what to wear them with. I finished the look with a pair of white pumps for an extra splash of color. A somewhat unexpected pairing for myself, but I've been feeling particularly bold these days Why the heck not. Right!?

I hope you have a great weekend!

Men's Camo Print Jacket

So, let me tell you...

Another bomber jacket added to the collection, except this one is straight out of the men's section. Truth be told I wasn't even looking for a jacket when I snagged this camo print number from Forever 21. But, it just so happened to be on sale at the time, plus I've been wanted a camo jacket for a bit. (SCORE!) I love the embroidery on the back as well as the fit. When buying from the men's section, depending on the item, I typically purchase the smallest size so that the fit is likened to my actual size in womenswear. However, I didn't do that with this jacket - instead of getting a small, I got a medium so that the jacket would hang a bit more. I've been really into oversized jackets as of late, and this one fits right in.

Give The Gift Of JORD

So, let me tell you...

Valentine's Day is coming up fast, and if you still haven't found or don't know what to get your Valentine that can be a bit daunting. But if your Valentine loves a stylish timepiece, and beautiful woodwork JORD Wood Watches just might be right up their alley. They have some really cool modern watches in different wood finishes for both women and men. The cherry on top!? They also offer personalized engraving to write that special little something for your special someone! A date, a phrase, or a nickname, perhaps? A unique detail that will remind your loved one of you every time they look down. My favorite part about this watch is the versatility. It can be worn with a more dressed up outfit or even a chill casual look. This style, in particular, attracted me because of its effortless eye- catching elegance. The dark sandalwood against the smoke gray face compliments the rose gold perfectly. I always love a nice metallic accent!

So you know, you have until Feb. 9th (at 2 pm CST within the US ) to receive your order by V-Day - so there's still time. (Also, the packaging is just as cool as the watch itself! You can see it here.) And if you're like me, and you don't have a Valentine this year don't let that stop you from treatin' yo self. I certainly won't. No shame in being your own Valentine! ;)

Walking Stripes

So let me tell you...

As far as my eye can see, stripes will forever be a staple in my wardrobe. Vertical stripes in particular, like this striped dress from Romwe. The little rope straps and belt are the details that give this dress a touch of sport. With the weather being slightly irrational lately, this long sleeve turtleneck was calling my name, but on a warm day the turtleneck can be swapped for a basic t-shirt and the footwear can be left the same or switched for a simple strappy sandal.  Options - always necessary.

DIY Side Split Levis Jeans

So, let me tell you...

Can you believe we're in the middle of January already!? Like whaaa... so crazy. Anyways, at some point, I'll be able to get on track with the consistent posting schedule that I 've planned for the year. Until then, please, bear with me. January started like it was shot out of a cannon.

However, this is the first look that I shot this year, and I'm obsessed solely because of the DIY side split jeans. I found these Levis towards the beginning of last year for $6 at one of my local thrift stores. I didn't try them on at the time, but when I did, I realized that they were a lot smaller than I thought. They're juniors. But clearly, that didn't stop me from finagling myself into them. I just needed a bit more leg room. So a snip at the hem, lead to a rip up the side and viola, I had my much-needed leg room. I loved the way these jeans moved while I was walking. This by far is my favorite impromptu denim DIY that I've done. The first time up, I decided to keep it simple by styling them with this vintage velvet boatneck tunic. But, before I wear these nifty jeans again, I'll have to add a stay stitch above the split so that they don't rip any farther. I mean, I can be cheeky, but not that cheeky. ;)

You should totally try this DIY, it's so easy. If you do, let me know how they turn out in the comments below.

I hope you're having a great week.

Plaid Wool Blazer

So, let me tell you...

I  decided to wear this plaid wool blazer and a couple of layers underneath, on a day that felt like one of the hotest fall/ winter days that we've had in LA this season. To my defense, the weather app said it was going to be in the low 70s but it ended up being in the low 80s instead. That's LA for you. After taking these pictures the blazer and the sweater both came off.

But now that we're getting some real fall weather, this layered outfit is ideal (minus the exposed ankles and the mules). Switch the mules for a pair of booties or galoshes and you'll be warm and winning.
