BR Spring

So, let me tell you...

Continuing on the same note from my last post. Here's another spring gingham print from Banana Republic, this time in the classic sheath dress style! Not only because of the bold print, (which I'm starting to think that my closet needs more of) but also because of the fit, I'm really into this gingham print dress! The fabric has a nice amount of stretch to it which I really appreciate in any form fitting dress. It makes the dress comfortable, moveable and more flattering because it can hug your curves in all the right places. This print and style is one that can be worn on various occasions: work, date night, Easter Sunday... I styled it here with an old long scarf that I had, but it also looks really cute with a denim or leather jacket. Minor detail, but a notable one for me, the shoulders come equipped with a little holster for your bra straps so they're not popping out when you're leaning in to take those Easter Sunday pictures. (not just specifically Easter pictures, but you know what I mean) I don't know about you, but it's the little things like that that I appreciate in hindsight. Also, it's currently on sale!

Gingham Style

So, let me tell you...

Growing up in a relatively conservative home with a mother who wears a lot of suits, I've grown to accumulate a few myself. Yet, nothing quite as notable and as exciting as this gingham print suit from Banana Republic's spring collection. This blazer and pant puts a few of my existing suits to a boring shame. There is something vivacious about a gingham print suit for that women on the go - which speaks volumes to who she is. With a style so bold it's nothing short of an eye-catching ensemble. Slide over traditional black and blue suit sets, something a little more fun is moving in this season.

P.s. This pant is the same Avery cut as the pants from the last post. Also, I did a mix match styling with this blazer for another look, so stay tuned for that!

Until next time!

Avery, Mid-Rise & Cropped

Marquise C Brown - Honey In My Heels-001.jpg

So, let me tell you...

I had the opportunity to partner with Banana Republic styling a few of their spring styles. I love a nice mid-rise cropped pant not just for spring, but all year around. Having long legs and finding the perfect pair of cropped pants to my liking has proven to be a bit of a challenge for me - with the exception of Banana Republic's Avery pant. They are my ideal cropped pant length. They aren't too short, they aren't too long, they're juuust right. (Goldilocks and Three Bears anyone?) The straight fit and the mid-rise length makes them easy to wear with a pair of booties, flats, or sneakers. One of the factors that I appreciate about the fit of BR's pants in general, including this one, is the comfortability. I've been on the go a lot more lately and comfort is always key. I styled this look for brunch, pairing the pants with a plain white t-shirt and my white BR blazer from last spring. To add a little pop I put on my go-to leopard print sandals a patent leather belt and my rose gold crossbody bag.

P.s this look is one of many in collaboration with Banana Republic, so keep an eye out here and on my Insta for more!

Ring My Bell... Sleeves

So, let me tell you...

Last month was such a blur and here we are well into March. I could tell you all the things that I've been doing that have kept this busy bee from updating the site, but I won't now - I'll save that for another time. But, if you aren't already, you should follow me on Insta for daily updates. :)

With that said, onto this multicolored bell sleeve top from SheIn. I didn't want to take off. I was looking for things to do this day, just to keep it on. haha. Have you ever done that? This top is just so fun! A lively intro to spring with the mix of bright colors. I love the contrasting multicolored sections. And the bell sleeves are everything. I could have gotten a small which would have been a little more fitted, but I went with a medium instead so that the sleeves would hang a bit more on me. For a bit of edge, I paired the top with these faux leather bermuda shorts that I got on sale way back when. This was actually my first time wearing them. When I got them, I thought they were a great idea, but until this top, I couldn't figure out what to wear them with. I finished the look with a pair of white pumps for an extra splash of color. A somewhat unexpected pairing for myself, but I've been feeling particularly bold these days Why the heck not. Right!?

I hope you have a great weekend!

Men's Camo Print Jacket

So, let me tell you...

Another bomber jacket added to the collection, except this one is straight out of the men's section. Truth be told I wasn't even looking for a jacket when I snagged this camo print number from Forever 21. But, it just so happened to be on sale at the time, plus I've been wanted a camo jacket for a bit. (SCORE!) I love the embroidery on the back as well as the fit. When buying from the men's section, depending on the item, I typically purchase the smallest size so that the fit is likened to my actual size in womenswear. However, I didn't do that with this jacket - instead of getting a small, I got a medium so that the jacket would hang a bit more. I've been really into oversized jackets as of late, and this one fits right in.

Give The Gift Of JORD

So, let me tell you...

Valentine's Day is coming up fast, and if you still haven't found or don't know what to get your Valentine that can be a bit daunting. But if your Valentine loves a stylish timepiece, and beautiful woodwork JORD Wood Watches just might be right up their alley. They have some really cool modern watches in different wood finishes for both women and men. The cherry on top!? They also offer personalized engraving to write that special little something for your special someone! A date, a phrase, or a nickname, perhaps? A unique detail that will remind your loved one of you every time they look down. My favorite part about this watch is the versatility. It can be worn with a more dressed up outfit or even a chill casual look. This style, in particular, attracted me because of its effortless eye- catching elegance. The dark sandalwood against the smoke gray face compliments the rose gold perfectly. I always love a nice metallic accent!

So you know, you have until Feb. 9th (at 2 pm CST within the US ) to receive your order by V-Day - so there's still time. (Also, the packaging is just as cool as the watch itself! You can see it here.) And if you're like me, and you don't have a Valentine this year don't let that stop you from treatin' yo self. I certainly won't. No shame in being your own Valentine! ;)
