So, let me tell you...
You all already know how much I dig any piece that I can throw on and go, with minimum effort required. Well, recently added to my closet is this utility style shirtdress and seersucker blazer from Banana Republic. I'm obsessed with the retro vibe these days (let's be honest, in general) and the bell sleeves on this dress totally feed into that. Plus, the sleeves give it an additional touch of flirty feminity that you don't always get from the utilitarian style. I'm sure you can see from the pictures, but the wind was givin' me and this dress "life" with all of the movement it created with the fabric! I had that total woman on the go, effortlessly sexy feel happening.
Speaking of on the go, this blazer is the perfect weight for spring, as it's not too heavy to wear during the day, and provides just enough warmth when it starts to get a little cooler in the evenings. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but, I am a sucker for texture. Not only the way it feels, but the way it looks and the seersucker texture of this blazer gives it a somewhat relaxed feel, yet it still looks dressy. Making it a great piece to dress up or down depending on the occasion.
Considering the dress and the blazer have enough detail already I decided to keep my accessories minimal. With a touch of somethin' somethin' here and there, adding my go-to suede necklace, one of my silk head wraps and an old chain necklace used as anklets for a little edge.
This dress coupled with the blazer is one of those classic spring looks that transitions perfectly from day to night. And that's when it feel effortless. :)
